Your Face… But BETTER

I am a big advocate for the ‘no makeup’ makeup look and I am always on the lookout for products that will accentuate my natural features without being over the top. So I have picked out three categories that I feel are the best features to make stand out: lips, lashes and skin.

LIPS

My go to lip product, and probably my all time favorite lip product, is actually from the drugstore. Revlon’s Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor is INCREDIBLE. The shades available are so natural and I use the shade 630 Seduction. This is essentially my lip color but it provides a deeper, more even color. While being a liquid lip, I find it so much more comfortable than higher end liquid lipsticks because it remains relatively balm-y so it won’t dry out your lips.

LASHES

I HATE clumpy mascara. I can’t stand it. However, that does not mean I hate volume and length. Mascara is amazing because I have light lashes and when I don’t wear it I look like a dead person. I have two mascaras that I reach for consistently. On days when I crave volume without the clumps and stickiness, I grab the Lancome Hypnose Drame mascara. This formula is amazing: waterproof, jet black and just slightly volumizing for a thick lash line, giving the impression of fuller lashes. Most days, however, all I want is some color and length. To get the job done my all time favorite mascara steps on the scene: Benefit Bad Gal Lash. This. Stuff. Rocks. While its not waterproof (I don’t have any trouble with it) it can lengthen like no other for long, wispy lashes. The wand is a bristle spooly, not  plastic, which means ‘bye, bye clumps!’ **One of my biggest mascara tips to save you money and lashes, only buy mascara in the travel size. Mascara tends to dry out in 3 months and paying for the larger size will only lead you to waste it. The small tubes have the perfect amount to last for that time**

SKIN

I am not a contour girl, but I never pass up a good highlight. That said, the last thing I want is to look like a freaking lightbulb, so I tend to look for neutral highlights and I have found the one. When my skin is feeling dull and I need a pick me up, the Becca Highlighter in Opal. This is essentially the shade of my skin (much like the lipstick was the shade of my lips) but it provides a beautiful luminosity that lifts the high points of my face, making me look more awake and less dull.

If you have any neutral makeup products you use on the daily, let me know in the comments! I am always down for new things
