Beauty Haul and Christmas Gifts

Happy (almost) New Year!

I hope you all had a relaxing and fun holiday season. I, myself, had a wonderful time and was very lucky to have received some amazing gifts (including gift cards). I enjoy seeing what people have received so I thought I’d give it a go myself! Most of these gifts are beauty related, but some I was so excited about I just had to include them.

One of my favorites is the Glossier salve. Since coming back to Chicago, my lips have not been happy. The frigid, dry air has chapped them to no end and even my trusty Vaseline could not handle the heat [cold]. But this universal skin salve has become my trusty sidekick. After one application, my lips were back to their soft, supple selves.

I also fell in love with socks. Yes, socks. My mom bought me THE softest socks I have ever felt. Unfortunately I have no clue where they are from, but they are amazing. She also gave me the most beautiful bracelet from Jules Smith. The delicate silver and turquoise bangle goes so well with practically my entire closet.

My grandmother gifted me with the Donna Karan Cashmere Mist perfume roller. I am not usually one to wear perfume. I often find the scents to be too strong and poignant. But this light, fresh scent is perfect to roll on my wrists and neck.

From my dad I got a book that I am so excited to read. Grit is written by psychologist Angela Duckworth and brings together anecdotes and science to show the power of perseverance.

And with the pool of gift cards I received, I picked out a palette I have been pining for: the Tarteist Pro. And it is more beautiful than I could have imagined. With 16 stunning matte shades and 4 glittering party shades it is the perfect palette for all occasions. I will hopefully be posting a look using this very soon!
